Facts About 2 & 3 John

John 2 and John 3 are chapters in the Gospel of John, which many of the most famous stories about Jesus are recounted.

In the first part of John 2, Jesus miraculously turns water into wine, and in the second part he drives the money changers out from the Temple.

In the first part of John 3, Jesus teaches a Pharisee named Nicomedus about the concept of being “born again” not by the flesh, but by the Spirit. It also contains the famous John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, He gave us His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” In the second part, John and Jesus (along with their own disciples) are conducting separate baptisms at the same time. When John’s capacity to baptize is being questioned, John replies that Jesus is the Messiah, and that He will become greater, while he is a mere mortal. However, John knows that both he and Jesus are preparing people for a life with God through baptism.
