Facts About Romans

The Book of Romans is also known as the “Epistle to the Romans,” and it is also referred to as the Pauline Epistle since the Apostle Paul wrote it from 56 to 58 A.D.

Paul wrote this epistle (letter) to the church in Rome in particular, and its people who were “loved by God and called to be saints.” Since Paul himself was a Roman, it was but natural that he had a particular affection and concern towards the Roman congregation. Paul had not yet visited the church in Rome when he wrote the epistle. To Paul, the church of Rome had already been existing for several years, making it seem strong and established enough to help him accomplish his missionary activities. Since he had yet to visit the church at this point, this epistle was also made as an introduction to them.
