Fascinating Archeological Discoveries That Support The Bible

Ugarit

Ugarit was an ancient city, whose ruins are located in Ras Shamra in northern Syria. Apart from the discovery of what was once a prosperous city, archaeologists were also able to recover several cuneiform tablets there, written in what is known today as Ugaritic language (named after the city). The evidence gives us a glimpse of the life of the people in Canaan, as well as their religious beliefs and practices. This was during the period before the Israelites settled in Canaan. The texts also show remarkable and unmistakable similarities to the Hebrew biblical literature.
