Pilate-Dedication-Stone

A limestone rock was discovered at a Roman amphitheater. It could have been another old rock with an inscription, but this rock’s engraving was particularly noticeable: “Tiberieum/[Pon]tius Pilatus/[Praef]ectus Iuda[eae]” The rock, in secondary use at the local amphitheater, finally put the doubts to rest whether Pontius Pilate (and the Gospel stories in general) did exist.
