  • Once challenged 450 false prophets to set fire to a bonfire without any matches, they failed, and Elijah prayed that God would set fire to the wood and He did
  • Once ran away from being a prophet, God called him back and he obeyed
  • Elijah once prayed for the son of a widow to come back to life and he did
    • Converted a bit of meal and oil into an endless supply for same widow
  • Rebuked King Ahab and Queen Jezebel for their wicked deeds
  • Many soldiers were sent to capture Elijah, the first two groups were killed by fire from heaven, the third group brought Elijah to King Ahaziah, where Elijah was unharmed, and the King died as was prophesized by Elijah
  • Never truly died


  • A chariot pulled by horses of fire appeared and took Elijah from heaven, he never truly died
